Alex Snitker, Adrian Wyllie and Loring Smith on the Liberty Underground show (www1787network.com) detailing how if you follow FEMA’s guidelines for preparing for an emergency, the FBI may classify you as a terrorist. Once you are classified as a terrorist, even if you are a US citizen, the recently-passed Senate Bill 1867 allows the Administration to place you in military detention indefinitely, without charges or trial.

Everything you need is within one mile of where you live. Garro Tibbo is living proof. He lives in a normal suburban home in Toronto Canada but doesn’t need a grocery store or even a job. He eats wild plants and makes money recycling. This is NOT a poverty lifestyle. Gary now owns 3 properties, all his health problems are healed and he is free from the stresses of society. Forget the economy. Everything you need is already around you right now. This is the future.

JBF Awards 2011 Humanitarian of the Year: FareStart FareStart provides a community that transforms lives by empowering homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and families to achieve self-sufficiency through life skills, job training and employment in the food service industry. The company was founded by David Lee, a chef and entrepreneur, who in 1988 recognized the need to provide Seattle’s disadvantaged and homeless populations with healthy and nutritious food. David first launched a for-profit business called Common Meals, and in 1992, after years of working out of small church kitchens, found a kitchen large enough to meet his needs and the needs of the growing homeless population. There, he began to train the very people he was serving, providing homeless individuals with the opportunity to work and to contribute to their own community and FareStart was born. FareStart, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit company, has established a variety of training programs that provide invaluable lessons and educational resources to the local population. The Adult Culinary Job Training and Placement Program provides a free 16-week course that includes culinary training, counseling, life-skills classes, housing, food and clothing. Students have the opportunity to give back, beginning their first day by preparing food that’s delivered to local homeless shelters and low-income daycare centers. FareStart’s Graduate Support Services program provides ongoing guidance to adult graduates, including …

Part Two of a new series showcasing some Homesteading and Pioneer living skills. We recently attended a public festival demonstrating some of these “old school” skills. This second part shows some blacksmithing. Later parts will cover candlemaking, sugar cane and other homesteading/pioneer type skills. In these videos we toured the festival and talked with some of the folks demonstrating these skills. With some of these people we had to kind of “lead” them into talking about the skills via asking obvious questions, etc. Some were really helpful and interested in talking about the skills, a few were downright rude. As your watching this, consider the amount of TIME involved with certain tasks- like putting up a year supply of firewood. In this first video we show them using a crosscut saw and a Bucksaw. It would take you probably weeks to put up a year supply of firewood with these methods. Now it’s important to know these skills and even have of these old school tools and implements, but don’t throw away your chainsaws! Matter of fact, you should take a hard look at your chainsaws and resulting logistics train (spare parts, extra bar, extra chains, files, preserved fuel, fuel mix, bar/chain oil, etc.) after watching this once you realize that you could put up as much wood in probably a DAY that it would take a WEEK or more to put up with hand tools! I’m all for learning…
