Could I cook eggs on this?

Alcohol stoves work fine in this stove, titanium changes color due to heat, it does not effect the strength. you are a dumb ass dip wad who knows nothing,

When SHTF and you are working for your food and economizing calories becomes a function of survival, things that are vilified in our sedentary lifestyle such as salt and fat become necessities. Go google pemmican. I’d take venison steak if I had a choice but ramen has its usefulness in survival situations.

Do you know what “economizing” means? Salt is needed far more than vitamins in a survival situation. I brought up physical training to illustrate the fact that salt is used by those engaged in physical training for the purpose of increasing salinity and helping the body retain water to stave off dehydration. It would be economical to consume salt calories along with calories to enhance taste as well as increase salt intake.

Surviving is economizing calories, not the Olympic Games…
You are trying to justify this ramen shit by all means… but it’s still crap !

Crazy when you are sitting on your ass in your air-conditioned room. Sodium consumption during survival situation when your caloric intake and physical exertion is significantly higher is critical. There’s a reason why sodium pills and drinks are given to soldier, athletes during training.

1 pack of ramen noodles = 1960mg of sodium. 82% of a daily need. For only one meal. Just crazy.
October 16th, 2012 at 2:16 pm
Consuming salt is very important in survival situations. Your body will retain water and prevent dehydration.
October 16th, 2012 at 2:31 pm
and the discussion is about cooking ramen with the woodstove. thanks for stating the obvious
October 16th, 2012 at 3:01 pm
Just have a look to the amount of salt (sodium chloride) they contains and you’ll quickly see that they are NOT excellent for survival situations. They are excellent at nothing…
October 16th, 2012 at 3:14 pm
thats very cool but this is about the woodstove not the best way to cook ramen
October 16th, 2012 at 3:48 pm
cool stove, however i dont think they are worth $50 CDN.
October 16th, 2012 at 4:10 pm

October 16th, 2012 at 4:27 pm

October 16th, 2012 at 5:07 pm

October 16th, 2012 at 5:41 pm

That Vargo Titanium 750 Sierra is my favorite for backpacking. I like that the tapered sides to use all of the flame. I like the open design, rather than like a mug, so I can saute spices in oil, boil, or fry, for example: a pan-sized trout.
I use it with the Guyot Designs spatula that snaps apart with a spoon.
The lid will pour off excess liquid. That pan will do a lot more than ramen noodles.

It is normal for titanium to discolor with heat. It does not mean that the stove is being damaged. It is fine to use an alcohol stove with this.
October 16th, 2012 at 7:16 pm
I bought one of these vergo stoves after this video great peace of equipment worth every dime ( REI is offering no shipping fees in December ) great wind screen for tangea stove does discolor I have tried a lot of different thing and this vargo titanium stove is a lot better setup than a hobo can contraption
at least anything I have made and it is collapsable
October 16th, 2012 at 7:35 pm
They would have cooked faster if you keep the door closed
October 16th, 2012 at 8:05 pm
there goes my bag………..hang on!
October 16th, 2012 at 8:10 pm
HILARIOUS!
pleaple leaving comments are more interested in the ramen noodles than the stove… lol.
i like this stove, but will it hold the weight of a large pot or skillet? i’d like to try to cook something more substantial on it, like ckicken breast or steak.
once again, great video kev. ur my hero.
October 16th, 2012 at 8:54 pm
