Do you have any suggestions on a book for a beginner urban prepper? because everything i see is usually for preppers out in the country side.

Aww Sootch, wish you had of shown the medallion on front of Lights Out. Would have gotten Survival Monkey.com forum that I’m a member of a few new members.

Me, I consider Lights Out & One Second After to be a best & worst case scenario of TSHTF an actually surviving it.

Bought a couple of these books to add to my library. Added to the others to my wish list on Amazon. Thanks for the recomendations.

A really good all in one book is “When Technology Fails” by Matthew Stein. It is really thick with large pages and small print, lots of illustrations, almost like an extra thick textbook. It covers everything, and I mean every skill and situation you can think of. It is jammed packed with information on survival and self sufficiency. Definatly one of the best.

great topic sootch. I just got a barnes and noble nook for christmas. I thought oh I’ll just get these books on my nook, it’s cheaper…….duh! and one second after is one of my favorite books. This video actually brings up an important topic regarding this online world we live in. We spend all this money on e-whatever, but is it really worth anything if you can’t hold it in your hand? If the SHTF now, all the e-money you spent is worth less than a pile of @#$%…..you do the math

    Great review, Sootch00.

With all due respect, UN “Peace Keepers” have been involved in some of the worst atrocities ever committed. Researching that topic will give you a new understanding of what a “one world govt” looks like. The writer is, unfortunately, using real world events as a basis for what you are referring to.

  21. 7millimauser Says:

Looks like some good reads. I just got the Doom and Bloom book and it is very good.
As an aside there are some disparaging remarks being said about the United Nations. I would like to say, that in my opinion, every one of them has been well earned. Don’t get me wrong, I feel that American politicians are just as dirty and corrupt. They just aren’t as crass.

  22. ericpmahoney Says:

depends actually whether you’re referring to a short ton, a long ton, or a metric ton. He stated in his reply 2000 lbs, which is a short ton. NOW YOU KNOW

  23. Lonewolf15100 Says:

I still cant get over how mine has a section on a Nuclear explosion situation. I think its the shortest section in that book. haha

  24. USFA45LC Says:

; Honestly, it’s not far from the truth. The UN should have never existed. The UN is one of those “feels good and safe” organizations, like the TSA, more useless people with suits on.

  25. pkbjorn35 Says:

@Patsyco i will not argu with you. The UN dont seem to have balls, and they showed that in many situation. But my point is that the writer is way of when he describes the UN like he did. He is making up a foe and naming them the UN. ( and im talking about the book) its like i should write a book and make the american troops a bunch of triggerhappy, babykilling, postal retards. Now, even if you guys have done that, and the UN never did anything like the writer says, it would be a lie of me to sa
