How to plant carrots. This vid was taken a week ago. Our carrots are starting to pop up already. We are trying to grow carrots in our raised beds this year with a lighter soil. Our top soil here is heavy and carrots don’t seem to do very well.

Mixing sand with seeds can really help to decrease density, keep up the good work!

Mixing two parts sands to one part seeds for small seeds can really help get more even rows with less density. Keep up the good work!

    Hi!
Nantes is a french City, you should not pronunciation the ‘e’ and the ‘s’ at the end, otherwise it sounds weird ;)
Thanks you for those valuable sowing advices!

I’m glad they have been helpful for you. We’ve had years were we are running behind to. This year the cold weather is holding us up.

I’ve seen them in catalogs before, but haven’t tried them. If you do, please let us know how you like them!

Hi! I’m planting the same variety of carrots this year. I want to find some Thumbelina carrot seeds — have your tried those? They’re little, round, short carrots, almost like radishes and take hardly any time to mature. I can’t find the seeds anywhere locally — but Burpee has them. I hate to thin too — I feel so guilty pulling out a plant that could be a legitimate vegetable!

Thank you. I am not in my garden today, because it is raining . I really should be further along, but that’s another story all together. These videos are quite helpful and once again, I am most grateful.
Homesteading is more difficult than I ever imagined. I have only been at this a few years now and your tips are needed. Thank you.
