just a thought but learning stuff like how to make clothes or candles or wood working stuff like that can be helpful learning how to garden and learning natural medican how to make herbal medications i think learning as many skills as you can will help alot just a thought .

  2. TheBohemianMonk Says:

Simple they won’t be able to afford it, hence the bartering… :)

  3. TheModernSurvivalist Says:

Sure, they’ll want it, but the real question is what are the odds of people buying those from you instead of other much more reputable sources.
    FerFAL

  4. TheBohemianMonk Says:

I am only 3 minutes in, but I disagree with you that predicting items to barter is a gamble.. People will ALWAYS want their alcohol, tobacco, and medical supplies. That is a guarantee..Alright on to the rest of the video, just thought I’d share that… I know people.. :)

  8. XIVrobinson Says:

I TOTALLY agree that firearms never depreciate in value. You ARE correct that a firearm can be very handy in getting some good cash if times called for it. However, I PERSONALLY don’t feel too comfortable giving up any firearm, regardless of how many I have, during any collaspe because that is when people are at their ugliest and that firearm I just sold for money could have been given to help a family member of mine protect theirselves.

  9. TheModernSurvivalist Says:

Maybe you happen to have more than one. Some people have 10 ak47 or more. Maybe you can sell some of those for a profit, hopefully to people you know, maybe guys that didint buy them before and now need/want one. I sold some of my guns when I left Argentina and they were the most profitable item I sold when leaving.

  10. XIVrobinson Says:

Im just curious. Why would you barter ANY firearm? A firearm is made for protection so if times permit when a system collaspes and citizens are unruley why would you want to give up something that can help you see another day?

  11. elmaxidelsur Says:

I am from argentina and we used to do barter for a living (my parent bellown to me working class so when shtf we where right next to it), One thing that never never is bad, clothing (especially for kids) its something that everybody needs and almost no one can make… food, if you know how to do things that normally you can buy a supermarket you can barter or sell them, entertayment if you know how to make a good pirate movie you can do ok.

  12. savgal1211 Says:

  13. Hrcoprco Says:

Do you know anything about any religion?
That is your opinion, keep it to yourself, don’t poison other people with your “belief”.
I was explaining something to a person that asked me something, you could see from he’s comments that he is a fanatic communist who was trying to convince people that government murder of innocent people is justified.
    Did you read my comments?
I said I acknowledge all Abraham religions.
    Go spread hate somewhere else.
Fernando videos are about surviving and prepping.

  14. blazinerday Says:

funny isnt it a sin to judge others? religous people claim to believe in god but are always trying to do his job. you act as if your concerned for other people but you judge them if they dont believe in your beliefs. smart people dont contradict themselves

  15. kanadaluvr Says:

The opiods like morphine and heroin are proper painkillers useful in amputations and gunshot/stab wounds. Cocaine and Meth keep you awake and alert. These are real barter items, because they already are barter items in the world we live in now. Water, food, shelter, protection will be most important, but if you have those covered, drugs will be next on the list. Just my opinion, like I said, I could be way off on this.

  16. kanadaluvr Says:

My opinion is that if you are going to stockpile bartering items to prepare for the highly unlikely scenario of being in a world where you actually DO barter, is to have items that are already highly sought after and difficult to get. These would be illicit drugs in my opinion. I could be way off on this, but items like potent opioids or possibly even cocaine and methamphetamine would be highly sought after in my opinion. Obviously water, food, shelter and weapons are #1, but drugs will be ++

  17. rimlanin Says:

I am an atheist. The only things I belive in are things that science has brought us. You claim to be more intelligent, yet you believe in fairy tales. And “my way of thinking” has no “traps”, unlike the religious “do this or suffer eternal torture in Hell”.

The only thing you showed is your ignorance. Good day.

  18. Hrcoprco Says:

You are part of a religion, it’s called sotonism wheter you know it or not.
You will probably find the truth too late, but you made that decision by yourself so nobody can tell otherwise.
I won’t argue with you any more, I commented before because of other people, I don’t want them to fall into the traps of your way of thinking, the falls and ugly way, and I don’t want them to believe in lies.
Now, with all your comments, smart people can see for themselfes so there is no point for me to argue.

  19. rimlanin Says:

Religion is the opium of the masses. How you can still believe in fairy-tales, after we have SCIENTIFIC proof that says otherwise is baffling to me. Also, Zionism isn’t a religion, it is a political ideology. Judaism is what you are trying to say.

If we take the Bible’s idea of a country, we will have a Slave-state, oligarchic theocracy. The bible supports slavery, stoning, burning at stake, financial oligarchy and religious supremacy. Do you really want a country, that is based on those value

  20. Hrcoprco Says:

    Quote from your channel:
“I am a devout Authoritarian Communist, believing in Marxism-Lenism.”
    LOL
I live in Croatia which was under communism for 45 years, but we are under capitalism since 1991. I don’t like communism or capitalism.
I like christianity and how the holy scripture says the country should be lead.
People like you could say that I’m brainwashed by the Old and the New Testament.
I’m proud of it and I live by it’s rules.
I acknowledge all Abraham religions including zionism.

  21. rimlanin Says:

I live in a bouregoise capitalsit countriy. How could I possibly have been “brainwashed” into Communism? No. YOU are being brainwashed by the western media and their subliminal messages. Because you were thought to love the capitalist oppressors and defend them when they make their rebellions. YOU are the deluded one.

  22. Hrcoprco Says:

You are one of two things:
    a) brainwashed with a no clue of how thing work in the world
    b) mason, sotonist, brainwashed comunist etc..

  23. rimlanin Says:

That is because of the american puppet and radical islamsit insurgents in the country. The only way to put down terrorists is by force. The government of Syria isn’t killing, it is protecting its people from these vile terrorists, which seek to seize power and form yet another criminal state like Saudi Arabia. Fire must be fought with fire. I completeley support the Syrian government, for it is doing what every government does – protecting the country, against armed enemies.

  24. Nit3Sh4D3 Says:

the fear i have of precious metal is i dont know how to identify gold or silver even now. so in a collapse situation i think for my own safety i should stay away from gold and silver and use bartering methods like trade or even labor if i had to but i would like to avoid that. that may change between now and the theoretical time in the future.

  25. Uriel1816 Says:

How do you have internet in at your cabin?

  35. pgjertson Says:

Thanks so much for your great videos. I am really enjoying them. Good luck with your future projects. I’m anxious to see how the new “house on wheels” comes out. Like a boat, you could christen her “Lemon Drop” or something like that…

  36. nflsportsman Says:

hunting, it is very possible to have a cabin like LaMar’s in North Dakota. You simply must conquer the heating and power issues. A very small cast iron woodstove will provide sufficient heat for a small, well-insulated cabin. Also, I would think that small diesel welder/generator would handle electricity issues.

  37. solarcabin Says:

Thanks- I am in Utah near Flaming Gorge.

  38. jimmy19872009 Says:

  39. zodiakranch Says:

check out straw bale and cob homes. The walls are really thick and good for harsh climates

  40. hunting472002 Says:

I want to buy your book and build a cabin like yours. But I am worry that it will not be warm enough for north dakota winters. They are around -30 to -50.

  46. solarcabin Says:

Have fun on your adventure and finding land. When you find some land you like ask the owner if you camp on it for a few days. that is a good way to see if it is right for you.

  47. dantebenetti1 Says:

Looks great, Lamar. My wife, child and I are spending a year or so seeing the country in our RV then starting our cabin. We hope to find our ideal location while on our travels. I appreciate your videos and also ordered your ebook. Good stuff.
