@digmatology Or buy 12 jars of yeast. I did. Buy em on sale and stock up. Comfort food is something people need for mental status. Risen breads are my comfort food.

Don’t forget the 500 dollar wheat grinder. here is how to make yeast bread with no yeast packet – 1 cup flour – 1 cup water in pint jar cover with cloth and set on the counter over night – the next day you dump half of it out – then you add back in 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup water cover and set out over night – do this everyday for 4-5 days and you will notice it it gets frothy. Once it gets frothy, you put the half you dump out into your flour dough and mix – let rise. Replace the half and stir

Inflation has already increased the prices of beans to over $1.00 per pound depending where you buy and what type of beans. I think herbs, spices and salt is very important because beans without these really can bring down spirits! Also a wheat hand grinder to process the wheat is pretty important too. Alternative cooking methods like cooking grains in a thermos can save a lot of fuel. Pressure cookers are very useful for some types of beans, however, not all beans can be cooked in them.

Skip crappy generic “Spaghetti” and grab some good quality pasta made with a brass die (brass means rough, holds sauce in it’s texture. Teflon die = smooth and bland)

    or…. make your own…..

  7. zitheran Says:

Where did you find the noodles for that price?

  8. jplerwill Says:

Maple syrup is an easy one to lower your cost on. 2 cups sugar half teaspoon maple extract 1 cup water makes 4 half cup servingas at 240 calories. 400 servings is 15 pounds sugar and 4 2 oz bottles of maple. Thats can cost around 20 maybe 25 bucks, theres an extra 100 dollars for preps. I figure long term stuff, its better to have multi purpose ingredients rather than single use items, sugar alon can go into so many things, and is so calorie dense.

haven’t seen this approach in any of the videos. For someone like me “WHO JUST OPENED HS EYES”, it is a very informative.

Most of the #10 cans contents are rated for 30 days after opening them.

  13. morgan191 Says:

just passing on something i heard on one of survivalistboards vids, when buying food, becare how big your cans are (ha ha). if you have a no 10 can of something that you crack open, but have no way of storing it after you’ve opened it, you’ll either have to eat it all or throw it away, which would suck. ways arond this problem include, having a power source (but you might not always) or having alot of mouths to feed. just somethin to think about. great vid man.

  19. 69jondoes Says:

to have more money left over you could replace syrup with jam, and it has a better nutritional value , just some advice from someone who likes your vids.

Good, then make a video so everyone knows you would recommend a rifle. Im not sure how accurate you think a 9mm needs to be but I can hit a bowling pin with a 9mm at a 100 yards. Mabey your a bad shot it you cant hunt with a 9mm. You just contradicted your comment, You said recommed a rifle in place of a pistopl then you say Bottom line it doesnt matter what gun you shoot them with. Also I left almost $100 to buy what ever, ve got a marlin 60 for $65. Dont bother replying

  21. thecombatpros Says:

I would have recommended some kind of rifle in addition or in place of the pistol. More expensive but easy to hunt with. Even a .22 if funds aren’t available. You can hunt small game and it still is a self defense piece. Bottom line…..it’s a gun. I don’t care, you shoot some one (last resort I hope) it won’t matter what it was with. It’s a bullet. Lastly you can hunt with the 9mm pistol but it’s not as accurate.
